Please note that from February 11th 2018 we will be moving to the Ockment Centre, North Street, Okehampton, EX20 1AR
How to find us
North Street is off Fore street, the main street in town. It is one way and so you will have to drive down Northfield Road and turn left at the end. There is limited parking at the Ockment Centre, which can also be reached by walking over the footbridge from the supermarket carparks.
Everyone is welcome to attend our meetings. If this will be your first time and you would like more information please ring Barbara, our clerk, on 01837 55805.
Meeting for Worship Time: 10:30am until 11.30 each Sunday. Meeting for worship is followed by refreshments and a chance to chat with other Friends and attenders. We also have a library with a wide range of books about Quakers for you to borrow.
Children and Young People’s Meeting Times: Second Sunday of the month (not August). We have up to 8 children and young people at our monthly children's meetings and sometimes as many as 13. Our ages range from 4 months to 17 years. We start off in the main Meeting for Worship for about 15-20 minutes and then leave with two adults for our own activities. Recently these have included learning about well known Quakers, listening to the interesting life stories of older members of our meeting, clay modelling, making books, poetry, learning about Fairtrade, making connections with a children's home in Malawi and having discussions. We make sure there is something for all age groups. On Sundays when there is no children's meeting children and young people are welcome to attend our meeting for worship.
